“Will anyone believe me? Anyone believe me? Believe me.”
Things I Don’t Tell You is an invitation to listen. The project was led by Berlin-based sound artist Zorka Wollny and produced through a creative residency with Chrysalis Centre for Change in St Helens.
The composition is based on a series of questions. Starting from those asked quietly to oneself “Am I crazy? Am I stupid? Is it my fault?”, through to the doubts and accusations from those around “Is it true? Aren’t you being too sensitive?”, to political statements “Why does the justice system let us down?”
Things I Don’t Tell You was performed to a small invited audience in the brick chimney of The World of Glass in May 2022 and was documented by filmmaker Anna Levin.
Our partner for this project, The Chrysalis Centre for Change, is an organisation that helps and supports anyone who identifies as a female experiencing domestic abuse.
