Billy Colours has collaborated with artist Cathy Cross to deliver a series of workshops with Holy Spirit School in Parr.

Children, teachers and families have taken part in the workshops exploring their local area, their place within it and where they see themselves in the future. These huge subjects uncovered images and concepts which Billy will bring together with her bold and colourful style to create a final mural design.

The mural was revealed in March 2022.

Part of a series of public artworks platforming the work of women and LGBTQIA+ artists.

Billy's mural is part of our wider murals programme. After the huge success of last year’s murals by residents and Nomad Clan in the heart of Parr we have planned a series of new murals to transform several other locations in the area. With support from Torus Foundation and Culture Hubs, Heart of Glass will bring together communities and schoolchildren with internationally renowned street artists.

“At a difficult time for schools with covid and lack of funding, you have brought joy and sunshine! You have raised aspirations and broadened horizons!”

-Michelle Ravey, Headteacher
