Jane is working with a group of participants from St Helens to create a piece of dance. She is delighted to be working with Heart of Glass, carefully growing a new conversation in response and with the people of St Helens, to see what is possible to make and discover together.

“Jane Mason’s choreography captures the moment when all certainties seem to dissolve, and life and the human body suddenly seem so fragile” Lyn Gardner, Guardian

Jane’s choreographic practice is informed by her deep curiosity and fascination for the ways in which the relations between people, movement, space and materials can increase the interconnectedness between ourselves and the world around us.

Across her work is a special interest in working with non-trained performers, adapting and evolving creative processes that push towards subtle transformation. Jane’s robust (yet quiet) approach opens up a sensitising awareness, where she encourages both individual and collective participation. She feels her capacity to think, speak and feel is continually being developed through movement-based enquiries.

This event is part of Take Over 2022.
