PARRTY

Kate Hodgson launched a new zine (DIY – Do It Yourself / Self published magazine) called PARRTY celebrating the girls and young women that live and grow up in and around Parr, St Helens.

Issue One is an invitation to girls and young women living in the area to find out more about the aims of the project, introduce the artist and Heart of Glass. The zine also features creative activities and provocations inviting readers to get involved, be creative and share their ideas and thoughts around what they would like to see in future issues.

To accompany the issue one, Kate’s created a series of short ‘how to’ films offering ideas and tips on ways to complete the creative activities in the zine.

Kate has created a poster for you contribute to as you wish. With the words 'The Future Is...' the poster is asking YOU to complete the sentence with YOUR ideas.

PARRTY has been commissioned by Heart of Glass with support by Paul Hamlyn Foundation as part of The Young Hearts programme. Young Hearts is about creating a safe and welcoming space for young women to learn together, share their stories, and to develop their creativity.

PARRTY has been developed in partnership with Craftspace with the Zines and Artworks created by the group presented as part of We Are Commoners, a national Craftspace touring exhibition.
