Something new, and something that we’re really excited about - I Heart Thursdays is all about making connections. Part monthly social, part vehicle to bring us all a little closer, it’s an evening for artist to meet audience, creatives to engage with communities. With no script and no agenda nothing is off limits, and anything could happen. It’s a chance for the amazing people we work with - participants, artists, directors, writers and performers - to share their stories with us. Events promise to be free-wheeling, enlightening, frank and fun. Expect talks, screenings, dinners and just about everything in between! Why are our artists compelled to produce the work they do? What are the processes they harness in its creation? And what do we, the audience, really think of it all anyway?
The first event in the series will be a special scratch night of new performance work by some of the best local creative talent, curated and hosted by St Helens' very own Kitty O'Shea at Phoenix Plant Based Eatery. A vegan hotpot will be available, as well as soft drinks, tea and coffee. Audiences members can bring their own alcohol.
Running order for the evening:
- 7.30pm - Doors open
- 7.45pm - Vegan hotpot served
- 8.30 - 10.30pm - Performances with a break half way through
- 10.30pm-midnight - Music and chat
Performing on the night will be:
Quentin Smirhes
Quentin Smirhes is a troubled little man who lives neither in the present nor the past, or for that matter the future. He is a gentle man with gentle needs, has a penchant for the Crumhorn and is utterly terrified of earthworms. Tonight we will experience Quentin playing his exotic and some may say 'Erotic' Contrabass Glissandi Crumhorn and will be accompanied by his little prosthetic friend Timothy (the altered boy).
Olly Ford
Olly Ford's piece, ‘Safety Blankets & The Aliens of Grief’, is about a journey into adulthood and loss.
And others, to be revealed!
