Eu Não Quero Voltar Sozinho (I Don't Want to Go Back Alone)
2010, 17 mins, 12A, Portuguese with English subtitles
The arrival of a new student in school changes Leonardo's life. This 15 year-old blind teenager has to deal with the jealousy of his friend Giovana while figuring out the new feelings he's having towards his new friend, Gabriel.
I Don't Want to Go Back Alone is a 2010 Brazilian short film directed by Daniel Ribeiro. The short won the 2011 Iris Prize (an annual event celebrating LGBTQ+ film around the world). It was later expanded into Ribeiro's 2014 feature film The Way He Looks.
Workshop
Inspired by themes from the film, artist and writer Day Mattar from Queer Bodies Poetry, will support you to create your own poems, in a relaxed session focusing on creative expression.
Day is part of Queer Bodies Poetry Collective, who work with LGBTQIA+ poets and writers across the North West.
This event has been created in collaboration with YMCA Youth Hub.
Part of our new events programme for young people.
