As part of local heritage project Following the Roots, Frances Disley interviewed local residents and paired their memories of the area with six tree species found in Halewood Triangle Park. Listen to a selection of them here.
Following the Roots: Stories of Halewood is a new sculpture trail inspired by Halewood’s history. Created by artist Frances Disley in collaboration with Halewood residents, the trail tells the human tales of Halewood intertwined with the wisdom of the trees. It brings to life the unique stories of the area and explores the special relationship between residents of Halewood and this forest.
Throughout history, various tree species have been considered to have special qualities. Frances has paired stories and memories collected from local residents, with tree species in the forest, to represent the coexistence of people and place.
