Celebrating 10 years of creativity, community and connection

15th May 2024
Short Read

This autumn marks a decade since we began on our Creative People and Places journey in St Helens.

From our humble beginnings in a back room at St Helens Rugby Club, we've been lucky to be part of countless moments of joy, discovery, and transformation. From working with communities to create public artworks that now adorn our streets to developing captivating performances in unexpected non-traditional art spaces, and imagining new worlds with young people and schools to supporting artist development in this very particular and important field of art practice.

As part of our reflections on this past decade, we're delighted to be joining forces with Arts Professional to share some of the learning (and unlearning) from our projects and programmes with the sector.

Throughout the series we’ll be exploring how, by building deeper relationships with communities, the arts can create fairer futures and act as a positive force for change. In our very first piece with Arts Professional, long term collaborator Dr Chrissie Tiller reflects on our work and her journey with us.

We'll also be sharing some of our favourite moments and our learning. And there will be some public moments for celebration too. Watch this space.

Heartfelt Heart of Glass thanks to all our artists, communities and partners.
