We are thrilled to announce that Caroline Smith's short documentary film Cath will be screened this March as part of this ten day celebration of independent film.
We commissioned Caroline to develop the film as part of a series of 'portraits' of our collaborators in St Helens.
Cath features our fave lady in pink and the (un)Official Queen of St Helens Kitty O'Shea (aka Cath Shea).
About the film:
"Observing the everyday life, obstacles and creativity of one woman from St Helens, Merseyside; we follow Cath as she reaches 50 and takes stock of her journey in negotiating the balance between life and art. Having arrived at a point of now-or-never she revisits her alter-ego Kitty O'Shea in a final attempt to shift the balance from occasional maker to practising artist."
The screening takes place on Saturday, 11th March at 3.15pm. Tickets can be bought via the MANIFF website.
Huge congratulations to Cath and Caroline. This is Caroline's second film to be officially selected for the festival, following on from the success of The Whole Truth, Nothing But the Truth in 2020, which was commissioned by Heart of Glass as part of the TORCH project.
