A statement on leaving X / Twitter

As a community arts charity prioritising care and inclusivity, we just can’t keep supporting a platform that, in our view, isn’t aligned with those values. Lately, we’ve been concerned about the spread of misinformation and the lack of strong protections against hate speech and harassment there.

We know every social media platform has its challenges, but we still believe in the power of social media to connect and share. So, we’re staying active on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Threads and we’ll be exploring new platforms as they emerge. You can follow us on any of those, or sign up to our monthly newsletter, for the latest news, resources and ways to get involved with Heart of Glass' programme.

Watching other organisations we respect take this decision has only increased our resolve that this is the right thing to do for Heart of Glass and the communities we work with.
