Arts Council England champions, develops and invests in artistic and cultural experiences that enrich people's lives. They support a range of activities across the arts, museums and libraries - from theatre to digital art, reading to dance, music to literature, and crafts to collections.

Between 2011 and 2015, we will invest £1.4 billion of public money from government and an estimated £1 billion from the National Lottery to help create these experiences for as many people as possible across the country. Government funding is received from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and requirements are laid out in our funding agreement with them.

ArtWorks Alliance is a network of organisations and individuals with strategic interests in participatory arts, including community arts, socially-engaged arts, voluntary arts, and arts in education and learning. We come together as ArtWorks Alliance to help participatory arts in the UK become better.

The Chrysalis Centre for Change is an organisation that helps and supports anyone who identifies as a female experiencing domestic abuse.

Collective Encounters is a professional arts organisation specialising in theatre for social change through collaborative practice. We use theatre to engage those on the margins of society, telling untold stories and tackling the local, national and international concerns of our time.

Established in 2004 Collective Encounters delivers participatory theatre programmes with geographical communities and communities of interest across the Liverpool City Region and in 2019 we launched a Centre for Excellence in Participatory Theatre to provide training, advocacy and networking for the national and international participatory arts movement.

FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology) is a Liverpool-based cinema, art gallery and the UK's leading organisation for the support & exhibition of film, art and new media.

Helena Partnerships was established in 2002, when they took over around 14,400 homes from St Helens Council and is the largest housing partnership in St Helens

Platform formed in November 2011, Platform's key aim was to establish artist studios in St Helens, which occurred in March 2012. Since then six artists have worked from studios above St Mary's Market with a wider base of around 40 associate artists being involved in exhibitions, talks, workshops and other events to strengthen the arts in St Helens.

Rainbow Migration supports lesbian, gay, trans, queer and intersex (LGBTQI+) people through the aslyum and immigration system.

Refugee Women Connect, previously known as MRANG, is a women-only charity set up to support women asylum-seekers, refugees and survivors of trafficking. They work to build a safe life in the UK for all women in the asylum seeker and refugee community.

Short Supply is an Artist-Led organisation based in the North West. Their goal since day one has been to help out early-career artists from the North by providing opportunities in the form of exhibitions, advice, commissions and access to a lovely network.

Over time, Short Supply has become a bridge between early-career artists and the more established art world, breaking the cycle of needing work to gain a reputation and needing a reputation to get work. In short, instead of waiting for people with more experience to pay attention to emerging artists, they’ve created their own platform.

Part of St Helens Library Services, St.Helens Council Arts Service supports the development of all art forms including music, dance, drama, creative writing, new media, visual and public art.

Formerly called Citadel Arts, Wonder Arts is a children and families organisation operating exclusively in non-traditional spaces in the public realm.

Providing high quality arts experiences for a-typical children and family audiences who would not otherwise engage with the arts, Wonder Arts are based in St Helens. They began their life as Citadel Arts Centre in 1988 and changed their name in 2022.

At the World of Glass museum in St Helens you can see live glassblowing demonstrations or why not try your hand at blowing a glass bauble on one of our glassblowing courses . The museum hosts a number of attractions including two galleries.

YMCA St Helens have been delivering services to the community for over 100 years. These services work across: accommodation, family work, health & wellbeing, training & education, support & advice.
