This year's festival theme is Be Our Guest, hosted by Manchester-based live artist Lowri Evans.

Come closer, defy conventions, cast spells, embrace temptation, try new things, gather round….

"Hi, I’m Lowri, an artist and the host of this year’s Take Over. It’s lovely to be back in St Helens (after working with Heart of Glass back in 2015) - thanks for having me!

This autumn, I’m inviting a selection of artists to stage events, exhibitions and performances across St Helens and Knowsley. I’m a natural host; I’ve met strangers off trains, taken people on an open top heritage bus tour and I know how to throw a good party.

The festival is happening over three weekends - a magical time of year that will see Halloween and Bonfire Night come and go. Days become nights, wood turns to smoke, water snaps to frost."

You’re invited to step outside, brave the cold and explore the programme. Be our guest.
